Sonoma State Historic Park Seeks Operator for Blue Wing Inn Event Space and Lodging

California State Parks is inviting qualified businesses to manage and operate a historic-style event space and lodging at the Blue Wing Inn in Sonoma State Historic Park, Sonoma County.

 

The state will accept proposals for a 50-year concession contract through September 15, 2026.

 

All interested parties must attend a mandatory tour and pre-proposal meeting on May 18, 2026 at the Presidio of Sonoma, with advance registration required.

 

A Letter of Intent to Bid, due to Sasha Tokas by June 16, 2026, is mandatory for all proposers.

 

Originally built in the early 1800s, the Blue Wing Inn is one of Northern California’s first hotels and is a California Historical Landmark.

 

Situated in the heart of wine country, Sonoma State Historic Park preserves key sites from California’s past, offering a unique opportunity for operators to revitalize local history with modern amenities.

Alaska Airlines Expands California Routes with New Santa Rosa and Long Beach Services

Alaska Airlines is expanding in California, adding four new nonstop routes from Santa Rosa and Long Beach to key western cities.

 

Starting November 1, 2026, seasonal flights from Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport will connect Santa Rosa to Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and Boise until April 2027.

 

Travelers will fly aboard Embraer E175 jets, boosting Santa Rosa’s nonstop destinations to 12.

 

On September 8, 2026, Alaska Airlines resumes year-round, twice-daily service from Long Beach to Seattle-Tacoma using Boeing 737s, a welcome return after a ten-year break.

 

Santa Rosa flyers can also benefit from the popular Wine Flies Free program, checking up to a case of wine at no charge.

 

All new Santa Rosa routes will feature complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi for Atmos Rewards members, ensuring reliable in-flight connectivity.

 

Alaska Airlines’ latest moves bring greater convenience and more options for California travelers.
